ICRC 'Facts and Figures Report - 2017'.
 The International Committee of the Red Cross has released a four-page report of its activities in Afghanistan for the past year.

Afghan Fatemiyoun Division - Fighting in Syria. Read about the Shia foreign fighters fighting on behalf of Iran in Syria. Afghan Spy Chief Visits Pakistan. Oh . . . to be a fly on the wall. The Afghan intelligence chief and Interior Minister paid a visit to Islamabad to discuss 'security concerns'. (Radio Free Europe, Jan 31, 2018).

Chinese Military Base in Afghanistan? There have been several new reports over the past few months about the  Chinese establishing a military base in the remote province of Badakhshan. (Military.com,  Feb 3, 2018).
