2nd Cavalry Regiment is currently training in a Mission Readiness Exercise (MRE) at JMRC in Hoehenfels, Germany in preparation for a deployment to Afghanistan. Part of this training encompasses proficiency with unique pieces of equipment. One of these unique pieces of equipment is the
RQ-11 Raven Unmanned Aerial Vehicle or UAV. UAV's are also referred to as Unmanned Aerial Systems or UASs. In the civilian world and in some military circles as well, UAVs are referred to as
drones. The Raven assists in surveillance activities providing information about what is happening on the battlefield. The Raven is particularly useful for small Military Advisor Teams or MATs (sometimes referred to as
