242nd Engineer Detachment Heading to Afghanistan
The Connecticut Army National Guard has mobilized the 242nd Engineer Detachment (Construction Management Team) to deploy in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The unit is now training at Fort Bliss, Texas and then will move on to Afghanistan to serve as a part of an engineer task force that is deconstructing and consolidating coalition bases as part of the retrograde process. 184th Expeditionary Sustainment Command in Afghanistan
A unit of the Mississippi Army National Guard is now serving in Afghanistan. The 184th Expeditionary Sustainment Command recently finished training at Camp Shelby, Mississippi and Fort Bliss, Texas in preparation for its deployment.
