CIA's Red Cell. After 9/11 the agency developed a semi-independent organization called the 'Red Cell' that was charged with getting a fresh set of eyes to consider possible terror threats. The Red Cell employed alternative-analysis techniques and is used to provoke thought within the agency. U.S. Intel Agencies - Lacking Cultural and Language Expertise. The intelligence agencies of the U.S. - of which there are many - have a proven track record of not reaching out to academia for experts in history, culture, and language. Daniel Craig Wouldn't Cut It. According to one news story James Bond wouldn't have the 'emotional intelligence' to get a job as a real-life spy. Hmmmm. (Quartz, Oct 2015).
