It appears that the Joint IED Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) is going away. The field agency of about 430 government civilians, 1,900 contractors, and numerous military personnel will have a name change, downsize its personnel significantly, and come under the authority of the undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition as a combat support agency.
