Under-Vehicle Threat Protection System
The use of IEDs along and underneath roadways in Afghanistan (and Iraq) has caused many casualties; even with vehicles with armor plating on the sides and underneath. Many injuries occur when the vehicles and their passengers are tossed up and slammed down by a blast.
