The Marines have departed Helmand province and the large, sprawling base known as Camp Leatherneck. Read a detailed account of the Marines stay in southwest Afghanistan in "Marine commanders reflect on 13 years of war in Afghanistan", Marine Corps Times, November 5, 2014.
