Afghan Drug War Futile

A columnist examines the history of the drug war in Afghanistan and concludes that billions of dollars were spent with no progress in combating the drug trade. He suggests that the U.S. stop wasting money in a futile effort and concentrate on vital U.S. national interests instead; at the same time developing more effective anti-drug policies.
