Ketamine Replaces Other Drugs at Point of Injury and During Medevacs in Afghanistan

For most of Operation Enduring Freedom casualties were treated with morphine and fentanyl to ease pain. However, in the past few years a new medical initiative to treat patients at the point of injury and during the initial MEDEVAC has taken place. The use of ketamine has proven to be effective as a substitute and according to a recent news release by the military.
