ALP Program Continues to Grow

The Afghan Local Police or ALP continues to extend its reach throughout Afghanistan. The ALP has been recognized as one of the more successful programs that provide security to the Afghan population and that limits the ability of the insurgents to gain more territory and influence in the rural areas of Afghanistan. Recently a village in Logar province - Babus - conducted a shura where it selected a new ALP commander for its local community.
