The Department of Defense (DoD) has identified five units that will provide elements to deploy to Afghanistan in the Spring of 2014. These units include 1st Brigade 82nd Airborne Division, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, 16th Combat Aviation Brigade, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, and the 1st Cavalry Division Headquarters.
