Along the Afghan Pakistan border can be found two types of Taliban. One is referred to as "Afghan Taliban" and the other as "Pakistani Taliban". The Afghan Taliban are supported by the Pakistani intelligence services and aided by some segments of the Pakistan military while the Pakistani Taliban are being fought by the Pakistani government. This is, of course, a simplistic explanation of a complex topic.
