Local Micro Enterprise Solutions for Afghan Women

Western humanitarian organizations (NGOs and governmental) have a difficult time getting the Afghan government to come around and support programs that provide aid to the women of Afghanistan.  One humanitarian worker - Lael Mohib - suggests a bottom-up, locally-focused approach to improving the lot of women in Afghanistan. She believes that home-based enterprises that are started with micro-finance grants is a more viable approach - from a practical and cultural standpoint.
