In a possible insider attack (sometimes called green-on-blue) two U.S. Air Force airmen were killed early on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 on an ANDSF compound in Helmand province. They were members of the 21st and 23rd Special Tactics Squadron. The attack took place near Camp Antonik, Afghanistan. The incident is being described by Afghan officials as a case of mistaken identity - when a U.S. special operations element was returning to base during nighttime hours after completion of a movement (or mission).
