USAID is bankrolling $216 million to fund their "Promote" program. Promote is a joint commitment by the U.S. and Afghan Governments that will work to empower 75,000 women between the ages of 18-30 and help ensure these women are included among a new generation of political, business, and civil society leaders. Promote will ensure that women in Afghanistan will have the skills, experience, knowledge, and networks to succeed alongside their male counterparts. The program consists of four components - leadership development, women in government, women in the economy, and women's rights groups and coalitions.
