Former COMISAF Now Commandant of Marine Corps

General Joe Dunford, the former Commander of the International Security Assistance Force (COMISAF) is now the Commandant of the United States Marine Corps. He is the 26th commandant, replacing General James Amos. Dunford also served in Iraq as the commander of the 5th Marine Regiment.
