Presidential Election Campaign Opens But With Violence

The presidential campaign in Afghanistan is now in full swing. The elections will be held in April 2014. The Taliban have vowed to disrupt the elections in an effort to discredit the results. The violence has started against the campaign workers - the most recent was the assassination of two workers for Abdullah Abdullah in the city of Herat in western Afghanistan.
