Selection and Training of Advisors

The conflict in Afghanistan has evolved from population-centric counterinsurgency and partnering with the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) to Security Force Assistance (SFA). The conduct of SFA means that advisers are mentoring, training, assisting, and advising their Afghan counterparts. The success of the SFA mission depends on the quality and training of the adviser.
